Boone Co Empowerment
The mission of the Boone County Empowerment Area is to improve the well-being of families with young children to ensure that every Child in Boone County Will Be Healthy and Successful. We hope to empower local citizens by organizing services that work to raise the quality of life for children.
Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance (CIRTPA)
The Central Iowa Regional Transportation Planning Alliance (CIRTPA) organized in May 1994, to carry out transportation planning for the eight counties in Central Iowa. The CIRTPA serves as the designated regional transportation planning agency for the Iowa Department of Transportation's (Iowa DOT) Region 11 for coordinating planning and programming efforts in the region and fostering new partnerships with state and local officials.

The Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency provides public transit service available to all citizens and visitors of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, and Warren Counties in central Iowa, enhancing quality of life, enabling access to employment and education, and promoting independent lifestyles for central Iowa residents.
Red Rock Area Community Action Program, Inc.,
The Mission of Red Rock Area Community Action is to provide advocacy, coordination of services, access to other programs and direct services when necessary to meet the basic needs of the economically disadvantaged, elderly, victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and those who are mentally and physically challenged.

Boone Co Board of Health
The Board of Health is appointed by the Board of Supervisors, organized with jurisdiction over public health matters within Boone County. This volunteer Board meets at least four times each year to review and enforce regulations of the State Health Department. They manage the provision of public and environmental health services in Boone County. The Board consists of five members, with one member being a licensed medical physician, and other members having nursing, farming and community expertise.

Planning and Zoning Commission
The Zoning Commission is comprised of nine (9) citizen volunteers. They are appointed by the Boone County Board of Supervisors to a three (3)-year term. The Zoning Commission has an ‘Advisory’ function. Before adopting or amending the official zoning map or zoning text, the zoning process calls for the Zoning Commission to provide advice of such adoptions or revisions. The Zoning Commission is responsible for examining whether the zoning proposal is consistent with the goals and policies of Boone County’s adopted Comprehensive Plan.

Boone Co Board of Adjustment (BOA)
The BOA is comprised of five (5) citizen volunteers. They are appointed by the Boone County Board of Supervisors to a 5-year term and act in a Quasi-Judiciary capacity. In simpler terms the BOA is Quasi-Judicial performs it duties and responsibilities as if it were a cross between a court of law and a town hall meeting. The BOA decision is always based on written findings of fact and evidence. The BOA is subject only to appeal in the local court system.
Master Matrix review committee
The Matrix Review committee is a volunteer committee appointed by the Board of Supervisors, organized to complete reviews of Master Matrix submissions. These submissions are made to Boone County from persons getting permits from the Department of Natural Resources for confined animal feeding operations. The committee meets as needed to review these applications and makes recommendations to the Board of Supervisors relative to their accuracy. This committee consists of three members with knowledge of farming practices and community expertise.
